Leadery

“Leadership is a choice. This is apparently controversial, but more than any other element I can track, leadership occurs when someone decides it’s important that they lead.” – Seth Godin

Leadership is a means to an end, not an end in itself.

Why do you want to lead? Where are you hoping to go? Why do you want to take other people there?

There’s a question of identity versus outcomes here. Are you interested in being a leader, or in doing leadery things, like helping a team of people accomplish something?

If it’s about you being something, it’ll be an uphill battle. If it’s about helping people, you’ll cruise.
